I was over visiting Misha at
from my front porch in the mountains - she has a photo of her and her man J at Cades Cove in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This reminded me that I have a calendar of my brother Greg's photography that he's taken when he goes backpacking. He lives in Charlotte NC, and has travelled extensively out-west, but also did some photography in the Great Smokies. I'm going to post two of his photos from Great Smokies National Park. I think his photos are top-knotch, but then again, he is my brother.

I feel like these scans don't do his photos justice but I still wanted to share them with you.
I'll put more of his photos up another time of some of his out-west shots, but wanted to share these since I was over visiting with Misha, and these were brought to mind.

Oh I love them Kathy, I have been to Cades Cove a wonderful place, I sure would love that log cabin sitting in back acreage, oh me I do love them, make a gal want to lust after, shame on me...Thanks for sharing you fine photos, I have enjoyed them, and surely have enjoyed you visiting my blog, you are a real encouragment. Hey by the way, I was born and raised in Romulus, Michigan, yeppers...Grafted in Yankee too, we moved to Florida in September 1970, been lovin it ever since, you could not pay me to go North again. I love the folks, I love the ways, I love the food, just pure love being a Southerner, whethere grafted or not, just love it. Hugs my new Southern friend, we have choosen the good life indeed.
Oh my! I love that log cabin. I have always wanted to live in one. I still hope to one day.

Barbara - thanks for you comments. I would've never guess you were a transplant. I love the folks and food here too in the south. Covington and Newport are big towns up near Cincinnati - they're in KY, but they are more SW OH towns, and then there's Louisville which is I think maybe the biggest city in KY, and then there's Lexington where I live, and there are still horse farms around where you can get out in the countryside a bit. I love this state. I'm glad you like the photos, I'll share more of Greg's photos sometime, most of what I now have is from outwest, but they're still beautiful. And yes, I would want this cabin on my property as well! Yes, us lusty southern ladies! LOL
Thanks for visiting, Pam. I love this cabin, too. It looks big enough to live in, and I love the creek rock chimney. There are rock walls all over this area of KY that are built from creek rock, and I think some areas are restoring them, a lot of them have been forgotten and fallen down or are lost due to subdivision building. I have a friend who took a rock wall building class with all men, and they tried to push her out, but she would have none of that, and built her own rock wall in her backyard. She is a pistol! I've never been to the Smokey's to visit; have passed through them and one day must go and stay for a visit.

Kathy, that photo of the log cabin is just gorgeous. I'm sure all of us would be more than thrilled to be able to live in such an idyllic location, off the beaten track, in such a wonderful, rustic structure. I hope we can see more of your brother's photos in the future. :)
Hey Sandra - I've been to the Smokies a few times. The last time was a trip there for my Dendrology class to study the trees there when I was in college at Eastern KY Univ. Thanks for you comments.
