About Me

My photo
Fayette Co, KY, United States
I am a country girl stuck in the city, for the time-being. I enjoy the country way of life, and practice that in my home as best I can by canning and preserving foods, cooking and baking from scratch, crocheting, living vicariously thru the many blogs I follow about country life. I enjoy learning about raising livestock, and glean from my past employment and personal experiences of working with animals to fuel some of my postings. I have 5 cats, who keep my life interesting. And I am also an amateur poet. Thanks for stopping by and checking out this Farmer-gal who is caught in town, for now.

Friday Fotos

You've heard of wine in a box - here is cat in a box -- Miss Annie.
Of course my cats have "cat" beds, but they
seem to like anything BUT their own beds.

Sorry for the poor quality of the photos, I have yet to master taking pics with my digital camera, plus it's a cheapy camera! I'll have to invest in a better one sometime.
Hope Ya'll have a great & blessed weekend. I will be offline for quite some time since I am moving tomorrow and don't know when I will get to the public library to update my blog. But I will have photos of the move, and pics of the cabin, etc. Thanks for all of your well-wishes for my move. The weather is going to cooperate greatly, and is supposed to be in the 70s for a high, which is great with the cats riding in the truck with me, so that they don't get too stressed with hot temperatures.

See Ya'll soon. Take care, from Fayette Co KY - soon to be Casey Co KY.

Hope your move goes well.Wish I were there to help. I have been to the Blue Herron.I think that's the name of the train/coal mine exhibit. Is that anywhere near your new home. Possibly I could find you on our next visit through your new county. Can't wait to see pics of your new home.

Hi sawn, Misha, and Andrea - I've got a ton of stuff to do today - and laundry at the apt laundrymat - but that will be later on tonight. But I've got the truck gassed up, and been to the bank. I can't pick up the trailer till 10, so the mover-helpers are getting here between 12 and 1, then on down to Liberty where Mr Weaver's sons will meet me with their team of horses to haul the trailer to the back of the cabin to help me unload. That will be about 5 pm EST, and I don't have to take the trailer to a neighboring town till Sunday sometime. But Mr Weaver has a load of wood in the shed for me so that I can cook, and most importantly, have my morning coffee, which I will enjoy on the front porch/deck. The weather here is going to be wonderful for the move, and I am so thankful to God for looking after us (me and the cats). I'll be busy today and up into the wee hrs of the morning, probably, but hope to get all done so that I don't have to make any other trips up here since it's a 2 plus hr drive, don't want to have to waste the gas. Thanks for all of your well-wishes. sawn, I don't know if the Blue Heron is near Liberty, I've not heard of it, but you're welcome to stop by on your next drive thru Casey Co. I'll try and get to the library sometime next week with pics and stories, etc, so you all know I arrived safe and sound, me and the cats. Take care All - from soon to be Casey Co. thanks for your prayers!

Rural Rambler is right, lots of prayers, good vibes and well wishes are being sent your way. And I second Misha, please let us know you've arrived and settled in safely. Even if it's a quick sentence or two, hopefully you can find a way to let us know. As you make that drive to Casey Co tomorrow, just remember you've got a truck load of friends hitching a ride in the back. : )

thank you andrea - i owe and apology to rural rambler, i didn't look closely at the commenter, and i get rural rambler and rural revival mixed up. so my apologies for calling her andrea - please forgive. i know you all are sending great prayers and vibes. i can feel them already. i've waited to the last minute to do most things, so am going to be up into the wee hours of the morning, but by this time tomorrow i should be on the road. hopefully will be in casey co at the cabin by 5 to unload, and somewhat settled in for supper a little while later, then if i can get the kitchen unpacked, and the futon set up i'll feel much better. i'll see about getting to my friend's home on sunday to send out a blog post, she just lives about 1.5 mile from the cabin. i don't think she'll mind my using her computer, or i'll try and make it to town sometime early next week. take care all, and thanks for all of your love and prayers. best wishes and blessing. from KY.

Cats tickle me with the way they can make themselves comfortable - any time, any where. We should be more cat like, ya think?
